This month’s South East Area colour belt grading will be held at the Yiewsley Taekwon-Do Academy on Sunday 26 June 2010 @ 11 am. All students who are due to grade would have been notified in class.

All students will be required to wear their Dobok (uniform), which of course must be clean and ironed, and their belt for the grading. Any student, whose appearance and attire is not deemed to be satisfactory, may find that they are not allowed to participate in the grading.
Regrettably no exact time can be given as to the when the grading will finish. All students are advised to arrive in plenty of time for the scheduled start; anyone arriving late may miss their grading. As always, all parents and friends are naturally welcome to stay and watch.
Grading Format
All students would have been made aware of the grading format, but to confirm, there will be a practical test of their knowledge of traditional ITF patterns, Imperial TKD self-defence and kicking combinations will also be tested. Students may also be asked to perform set drills, using moves from the patterns up to and including their grade pattern.
Depending and the age, and grade of the student, some may also be asked to demonstrate some light, controlled sparring.
The grading will conclude with students having a theory test. Students will be required to know the meaning of all traditional ITF patterns and belt meanings up to and including their grade. Students may also be asked to provide the Korean terms for any moves (kicks, strikes, blocks etc.) that they have learnt in class, and use in any of the patterns up to an including their grade pattern. Full details of the pattern and belt meanings can be found under the “Theory” tab on the website.
Should you have any questions regarding any of the above, please feel free to contact Mr de Silva (07956 466 392).
