The 12th edition of the Holland Cup took place on Saturday 3rd June 2023. This competition is one of the best organised ITF Taekwon-Do tournaments, which is attended by many high level international athletes each year. This year was no different and the Holland Cup hosted 597 entries from across 10 countries. Team Warrior was in attendance again this year, but this year was extra special with two of our junior athletes travelling and competing in their first international tournament.
We would like to extend our congratulations to all our students who travelled and competed at this fantastically ran tournament. Please see some of their fantastic achievements below:
Efthymios Paraskevaidis – in his first international tournament, he achieved a well earnt bronze medal in Youth 4th to 1st Kup Sparring under - 140cm. Mrs
Jaymie Hampson Phow – performed fantastically through a long term knee injury and secured a silver medal in senior female black belt +75kg sparring. Miss
Courtney Smith – after a time away due to injury, Miss Smith fought terrifically and earnt a bronze medal in senior female black belt -62kg sparring.
We would like to give Jasmyn Watson-Joseph an honorary mentioned. Jasmyn is a fantastic student, who has been competing consistently all year. Despite breaking her big toe, just a week before travel, Jasmyn still got out on the mats and gave an amazing performance. She showed true resilience and perseverance. Well done, Jasmyn!
Finally, a big thank you to our digital warriors’ team who helped organise and provide social media content for this event. Their hard work does not go unnoticed.
Will you be at the next tournament?
