De Silva Open 2026 – Competitor Information

The Impact Open returns on Saturday 4 July 2026 and has been selected as one of the key events within our Competition Squad competition pathway.
This event is open exclusively to members of the De Silva Taekwon-Do Competition Squad and provides an excellent opportunity to gain further experience against competitors from across the UK whilst continuing preparations for future national and international events.
Organised by Taekwon-Do Impact as part of their 30th Anniversary celebrations, the competition will take place at SportsDock, University of East London and will utilise SportData to manage entries, draws and schedules throughout the day.
Members of the Competition Squad who wish to attend should review the information below and register their interest with the coaching team

🎟️ Entry
This competition is open exclusively to members of the De Silva Taekwon-Do Competition Squad.
All athletes wishing to attend must complete the registration form below and submit payment before the closing date.
Registration closes at 17:00 on Thursday 18 June 2026.
Unfortunately, we will be unable to accept entries received after this deadline.
Entry Fees
Colour Belts: £50
Black Belts: £65
Please note that entry fees are set by the organisers and are subject to their refund policy.

Competitors will have the opportunity to compete in:
- Patterns
- Sparring
- Special Technique
- Power Breaking (16+ Years)
Divisions are subject to age, grade and eligibility requirements as determined by the organisers.

A provisional timetable has been released by the organisers. Final ring allocations and start times will be published closer to the event.
Black Belts
- 08:45: Arrival
- 09:00: Competition Begins
Pre-Cadet & Cadet Colour Belts
- 10:30: Competition Begins
Adult & Veteran Colour Belts
- 12:00: Competition Begins
Pre-Junior & Junior Colour Belts
- 12:30: Competition Begins

✅ Weigh-In & Checks
All competitors must complete the official registration and check-in process prior to competing.
The organisers will verify competitor details including age, grade, height and weight where applicable.
Further information regarding check-in requirements and squad weigh-in arrangements will be shared with selected competitors closer to the event.
🥊 Equipment
All competitors must wear a clean ITF dobok and bring the correct sparring equipment.
This includes:
- Headguard
- Semi-Contact Gloves & Boots
- Mouthguard
- Shin Guards
- Groin Guard (male competitors)
Competitors should ensure all equipment is in good condition and complies with current competition regulations.
🚗 Travel
SportsDock is located within the University of East London campus and is easily accessible by both public transport and car.
By Public Transport
The nearest station is Gallions Reach DLR, which is approximately a five-minute walk from the venue.
By Car
Parking is available at the venue, although charges may apply.
Athletes are encouraged to allow additional travel time as traffic around East London can be busy, particularly during weekends and event days.
👥 Spectators
Spectator tickets will be available directly through the organisers.
Spectator Ticket: £5
Children aged 5 and under may attend free of charge when accompanied by a paying adult.
