There is plenty of space in the campus car park, but with so many attendees, please make sure you allow enough time so you are not in a rush.
Follow the road, keeping to the left fork, until you reach the barriers. If the barriers are up, proceed a few meters further, and the car park will be on your left. If the barriers are down, press the intercom button to speak to security and request access.
Spectators
Entry will be permitted on a first-come, first-serve basis and charged at £5 per spectator, 5 years and under are free of charge.
Competitors should not take up paid seating if possible – they should remain in the competition area or use the warm-up area.
Refreshments
There are a number of food & drink vendors located within walking distance from the venue, but we recommend bringing your own sandwiches, snacks and water.
TOURNAMENT FORMAT
Format
All divisions will be contested in a double elimination format for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place. If a competitor fails to progress through their bout, they will be asked to compete again to settle the bronze medal winner.
Patterns
- All Lil' Warriors will perform their fundamental sequences, either Saju Makgi or Saju Jirugi. Students will be called up to the mats in pairs and asked to perform a sequence selected by the head umpire, which will be announced to the student before starting.
- All White & Coloured Belt students will perform one designated patterns throughout the rounds. All students will be asked to perform their grade pattern (e.g. Chon-Ji Tul, Dan-Gun Tul), or if you have graded recently, the most senior pattern that you know.
- All divisions will be separated by grade, so competitors will face another competitor of a similar age and grade.
Sparring
-
All Lil’ Warriors will freestyle spar for 60 seconds. This format is designed to showcase their abilities and techniques they have learnt in class. All competitors will be provided with protective equipment and contact levels will be closely monitored by a Senior Umpire.
-
All White & Coloured Belt competitors will spar for a duration of 2 minutes per bout. Sparring bouts will be semi-contact. White Belt and White Belt with Yellow Stripe students will be provided protective equipment if they have chosen to compete in the sparring divisions.
Divisions
All the information provided by students in the digital entry form has been used to allocate competitors into the different divisions, create the draws, and help us plan the timing for the entire day.
As was stated, if you are entered into the wrong division as result of incorrect information being provided, you may be unable to participate in the event and no refund will be given for your entry payment.
