Lil’ Warriors Assessment Registration – November 2025
18 November 2025
White & Colour Belt Grading Registration – December 2025
24 November 2025From 28 September to 4 October 2026, the ITF World Cup will be held in Benidorm, Spain.
The World Cup is the biggest and most prestigious ITF club event in the world, normally attracting over 2,000 competitors. This is a rare opportunity to test yourself against the very best, and to do it representing De Silva Taekwon-Do, your club, not just as part of a National Team programme.
We are now opening Expressions of Interest for students who would like to be considered for our World Cup Elite Squad.
🥋 Who is this for?
This opportunity is not open to all students. The standard at the World Cup is extremely high, and selection will be based on:
Technical level and ring performance
Attitude, effort and consistency in training
Competition experience (or clear potential to gain it)
Coachability, discipline and commitment
At this stage we are inviting:
Students already training as part of our Elite Team
Students who are Blue Belt and above, not yet in the elite programme but feel they have the drive, potential and commitment to work towards this goal
If you’ve ever thought, “I’d love a shot at something like this one day,” this is your chance to put your hand up and be seen.
💪 Preparation starts now
To perform at your best on a stage like the World Cup, preparation needs to start well in advance.
For selected athletes, preparation will include many of the things we are already doing, but with a clearer structure and purpose:
Regular De Silva TKD class training
Monthly Squad / Competition Class
Monthly Elite Competitor Training sessions
Private lessons (where appropriate and possible)
On top of this, we strongly encourage all aspiring World Cup athletes to:
Compete as much as reasonably possible between now and the event
Attend high-quality training camps, including international camps where time and finances allow
All of this is about building the technical skills, physical attributes, and ring experience needed to be truly competitive on the World Cup stage.
📆 Competition calendar & planning
We will be providing a full competition calendar for 2026, with events categorised by priority. These will be chosen based on:
Quality of opposition
Location and travel demands
Expected level of organisation
This will help families plan ahead and understand which events matter most in the build-up to the World Cup.
💳 Costs & commitment
Naturally, costs will be a factor.
The World Cup itself, travel, accommodation, and additional training will all involve financial commitment. We will share more detailed information about estimated costs and payment timelines as soon as we have confirmed details from the organisers.
For now, submitting an Expression of Interest does not commit you to going, it simply tells us:
You are seriously interested; and
You are willing to train as if you are going, so that the option is there when the time comes.
If you are keen but unsure whether you can ultimately make it (financially, logistically, or otherwise), we still encourage you to train for it anyway. The work you do preparing for a World Cup will raise your level, whether you step onto that mat in Benidorm or not.
📝 How to express your interest
If you would like to be considered for the De Silva Taekwon-Do World Cup Elite Squad:
Talk to your instructor or speak directly to Master De Silva about your interest; and
Complete the Expression of Interest form (linked / provided below).
We will then:
Review all expressions of interest
Monitor your training, attitude, and competition performances over the coming months
Communicate clearly with you and your parents/guardians about your progression and realistic prospects for selection
🎤 A final word to our students
The World Cup isn’t just about medals. It’s about setting a big goal, committing to the journey, and discovering what you’re capable of when you truly focus.
If something about this makes you feel excited, and a little bit nervous, that’s a good sign. Speak to us, put your name forward, and let’s see what you can do.
