Practice makes progress – Introducing the TKD Tekkers Training Hub

Warriors,

As an Association, De Silva Taekwon-Do is constantly aiming to provide a high level of all round training and services to help you to be the best martial artist you can be. Many of you have been asking instructors for some time now about what can be done to improve outside class, sometimes for an event such as a grading or tournament, sometimes just to sharpen your skills.

We have an answer. It’s a universal truth that the best results come from within. If you desire to improve yourself then you will show more determination than just doing so for others through practice. It’s the same in life with any training you do to master a skill. Instruction plays a huge part, but independent practice outside of class cannot be neglected.

We are delighted to present to you all The TKD Tekkers Training Hub, "The Hub", our resource for guidance and material designed for independent practice.

We believe very strongly that the tradition of practice makes progress, as clearly do many of you who have been asking for more guidance on how to train outside of the Dojang classes. The Instructors in class will guide you, the individual warriors will also practice independently to enhance their skills.

The Hub, the first of its kind globally, is accessed simply by web browser onto devices such as phone, laptop, iPad etc. It contains hundreds of videos including:

• ITF Patterns
• Traditional Techniques
• Sparring Training
• Strength & Conditioning 
• Training Tips

Access to The Hub will mean that there is an added onus on the student to practice outside of the lessons attended. Students will be encouraged to search the material and design their own additional practice schedule and priorities, however, we will be providing guidance and support for our students (or parents and guardians, in the case of our younger members), on the best material for a particular technical element or event (such as grading preparation).
